How much data is extractable from an online video? 'Roomtour AR' is a generated 3D Object with its geometry and textures solely extracted from an influencers YouTube video with 3D Camera Tracking techniques. Object recognition classifies object and locates them in space. This project should point out how sensible the data might be we put out in our webspaces.

Description
Influencers have created a new trend with the "Roomtour," where they film their living spaces and make them accessible to everyone on the internet. The work "Roomtour AR" extracts and visualizes as much data as possible from several of these videos and rooms. 3D objects are calculated from camera movements and transferred into another room using augmented reality to make them experienceable. A second and third data stream result from object recognition in the original images, as well as speech-to-text recognition of the audio track. The generated room is overlaid onto and exhibited within the real room.

The viewer scans the trigger and can then take a tour through the room. It creates an impression of the abundance of data that this type of video exposes.

In a society that constantly turns the private space into a public stage through streaming, video conferences, and online videos, the work "Roomtour AR" aims to draw attention to the accessibility of our data and, by extension, our privacy.
